Donnie Taco, West Perth
We worked with Kate from Whispering Smith to transform an unused space in West Perth into a multi-purpose area that would attract local foot traffic, as well as serve as a community hub for workers in the surrounding buildings.
Most of the construction—the custom fitted containers cladded in steel mesh and retrofitted basketball court—was fabricated off-site ignorer to meet budget and deadline. We then installed the locally sourced containers that would hold the Mexican cafe and bar, Donnie Taco, as well as toilet facilities. The space now serves as a dining area, recreational hub, and general hangout in between work hours and has created a buzz in the once denuded area.
